Uzbekistan is Central Asia's most populous country and a key market for Iranian fruit, vegetables, food and building materials.
Times and distances are approximate and depend on border queues, customs and season.
For Tashkent, Samarkand or another destination, specify transit countries, delivery point and cargo. Uzbekistan-to-Iran, inbound Uzbek delivery and transit of Indian cargo are different cases; direction and production origin must be explicit.
Barnav planning guidance; content reviewed:
UNECE describes TIR as customs-controlled transit with inspection rights retained. Confirm the applicable procedure and document responsibilities for the actual itinerary.
For India-to-Uzbekistan cargo, put the entry port, transit stage and final handover in one itinerary. Production origin, present loading point and destination country are separate data; package identifiers and descriptions should be reconcilable between stages.
For meat, state chilled or frozen condition and distinguish documents ready from those awaiting confirmation. Ask support to identify handover responsibility, seal status, temperature report times and delay arrangements. Assess the itinerary for the actual product and date.
Confirm the crossing, documents, capacity and departure for your cargo and date with support; transit ranges are not delivery guarantees.
Freight usually transits Turkmenistan. Barnav's head office in Mashhad, close to the north-eastern borders, coordinates this route.
Trucks enter Turkmenistan at Sarakhs, Lotfabad or Bajgiran and reach Uzbekistan at Farap or Alat. The driver needs a Turkmen transit visa, arranged before loading.
Long distances and strong seasonal temperature swings make reefer control essential; the trip temperature report is kept in Barnav.
For freight from Uzbekistan to Iran, provide loading city, actual country of origin, destination, weight, equipment and permit status. Dispatch from Uzbekistan does not establish Uzbek origin.
Meat dispatched from Uzbekistan and Indian meat delivered to Uzbekistan are different flows. Check species, production country, eligible plant, veterinary certificate, temperature specification and destination approval for each shipment. No blanket approval for Uzbek meat imports into Iran is implied.
Frozen buffalo meat is a documented commodity in India–Uzbekistan trade. A sea leg to Bandar Abbas and road transit through Iran and Turkmenistan require route, permit, date and reefer confirmation. See the India page for the sea leg.
