International freight by reefer truck

Reefer trucks carry goods that must stay at a set, steady temperature: fresh produce, dairy, meat and poultry, frozen food and medicines. Temperature-controlled freight is Barnav's core speciality.

Every reefer load has an allowed range, the driver sends a pre-cooling photo before loading and reports the reefer temperature on the road; support is alerted if it leaves the range.

Reefer truck freight

How is the rate estimated?

  • The rate Barnav support publishes per route and truck type
  • Published rates within their validity period; no private financial data
  • Approximate road distance and transit time from the cities
When do I need a reefer truck?

For anything that spoils or loses quality at ambient temperature: produce, dairy, meat, frozen food and medicines.

How is the temperature controlled on the road?

The allowed range is set when the load is posted, the driver reports the temperature and support is alerted immediately if it leaves the range.

Is the rate shown final?

No. It is an approximate range from Barnav's published rates. Support confirms the final rate after checking your cargo.

What does the rate include?

Road freight (plus the sea leg on Gulf routes). Clearance, special tolls and cargo insurance are quoted separately depending on the contract.

Is the quote free?

Yes. The calculator and the exact-quote request are free.

Before a quote: How should the cargo temperature be specified?

Use the product specification and contract for setpoint and limits, not one temperature for all food. Reefer air and product-core temperatures are different. Agree precooling, airflow, packaging, report intervals and who responds to excursions.
